The first season under the name Caledonian Braves can only be looked it with so many positives off of the pitch. On the pitch with a brand new squad we achieved a ninth place finish whilst beating our previous season points tally. Now to add to our achievements we were delighted to discover our team had a great disciplinary and fair play record for the 2019/20 season.
Braves managed to keep their discipline in tact last season and finished a respectable third out of 15 in the Scottish Lowland League FairPlay table. Ricky's men only managed 51 cautions and two red cards amounting to 171 disciplinary points within our 33 matches played over the course of the 2019/20 season.
Manager Ricky Waddell was delighted to hear of this but says there is still some room for improvement in the discipline of his team.
“Its great to finish high in the standings for fair play. While that is impressive for the squad I do believe we could have taken more caution with our discipline in certain matches, avoiding some reckless yellow cards.”
The club are proud of its values shown by both our members and and players on the pitch and the players have dealt with that responsibility of showing the Caledonian Braves as not only a great footballing side, but a well disciplined and enjoyable team to watch.
The team are looking forward to getting back into their training soon with the Lowland League looking like an October start for the 2020/21 season.
