‘A TRIBUTE TO GLASGOW : A BLEND OF ARTISTIC HERITAGE AND CULTURAL REBELLION’

Designed by Ed Cowburn, of renowned design studio Acid FC, the sleeves proudly display the Amnesty International marks. The release of these kits also marks a meteoric return to the UK for our partners, Le Coq Sportif.

With over 140 years of history, the French sportswear brand is iconic for many of their 80’s and 90’s kits within UK football. These two new Caledonian Braves kits, marks a return over a decade in waiting.

Club Founder, Chis Ewing, said “As a proud Glaswegian living in Paris, I am delighted to partner with Le Coq Sportif to produce the Caledonian Braves’ kit for the season and welcome the iconic brand back into the United Kingdom.

“The brand has a unique identity with plenty of tradition and heritage and we are excited to present a kit that embodies a Franco- Scottish partnership and let’s be honest, if it’s good enough for Maradona in 86, then its good enough for us. Working with Acid FC has been a lot of fun and that’s the way it should be. If you’re not having fun, what’s the point!”

Having designed the memorable 23/24 Leeds United kits, Ed Cowburn, has brought his talents to the Caledonian Braves. His innovative designs can be seen across our social media, after Ed was named as our Creative Director in July 2024.

Ed, Acid FC Director, said: “As a studio, Acid FC wants to work with clubs and brands that aren’t afraid to try new things, be rebellious and create designs that demand attention.

“What the Caledonian Braves are doing in Scotland ticks all those boxes and we were given the freedom to push our creativity to new tartan heavy places. Massive respect to Chris and the team at the Braves and for Le Coq Sportif to have brought our work to life. It’s been an honour.”

The kit design was inspired by a tricolore tartan, that was warped and twisted to create a new pattern inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, punk and pub carpets. In our traditional colour of blue, the kit stands as a bold statement of our position as disruptors. The away kit dons the same DNA, with dialled down colours and throw in of “rose and hope."

Both kits will also don cutting details, to highlight our principles as a club. On the back, the words ‘Because Together We Got Power’ – taken from Primal Scream’s ‘Come Together’ – can be found, encapsulating our community identity. With the club being fan owned, we’ve gone away from traditional sponsors to place our name front and centre. And finally, we’ll be showing off an updated badge, with a saltire donned phoenix rising from the heart of our shirts.

Upon the sleeves of both versions of the kit, will be the badge of non-governmental organisation, Amnesty International. Our new partners are world renowned in their work striving for international human rights, and as a football club, we couldn’t be prouder to align our views.

Neil Cowan, Amnesty International Programme Director, said: “We are delighted that Caledonian Braves have chosen to show their support for human rights in Scotland and across the world, by carrying the Amnesty International branding on their new kit.

“Football clubs themselves can play a huge role in bringing people together and creating more welcoming communities, and it is fantastic to see Caledonian Braves express their solidarity in this way.”

The Home and Away shirts will be available online at Classic Football Shirts, and for pre-order on the Caledonian Braves website. Our kits will also be on sale in one Glasgow’s most famous sportswear stores – so, keep an eye out for more on this on Friday!

The next step in our footballing revolution, are you ready to join the Braves?
